    Hello,

Not sure if this is the right place to post but anyway, if it's not moderators please forgive me:)

I would like to ask for your help in getting my domain name back. I sold a web site yesterday . The "buyer" paid with paypal and 5 minutes after I sent him the domain name. Domain is registered to GoDaddy and i pushed it to his godaddy account. A few hours later I have received an email from paypal saying that the payment i received was unauthorized. Well it seems that he paid using someone else's paypal account.

The dispute is still open, I called paypal however they said that the real account owner should be getting his money back so I think i will lose the funds and I dont have the domain name anymore.

Now, my question is this: have anyone of you been a victim like me? And do i have a chance of getting my domain name back ?

If you have any information that might help about getting my domain name back, please let me know.

I dont know if this will work, but if it was me I would contact GoDaddy and ask them if something can be done about it. Probably not, but nothing to lose for trying.

paypal + godaddy scam has been alerted by someone is this forum before.. u might try readin them ..

wat my mind says is.. watever u pushed from godaddy is not a problem with paypal chargebacks..
so godaddy wont be honoring ur request. if paypal got not much at ur side, consider u lost the domain.

i am very sorry for you..

Just got off the phone with GoDaddy. They said to email the undo deparment and that they can assist me further.

Anyway, I refuse to lose this domain name and I will do anything I can to get it back. Even if I end up losing more money I WANT IT BACK!

If I dont get it back I am going to the press with every information I have about both paypal dispute and godaddy support. I will splatter the internet with this case, email it to every single big newspaper and news site! I refuse to let the scammer win and lose the money. I agree that the funds need to be returned to the real paypal account owner, I am not disputing that. However as I said i refuse to let the scammer win.

Alas this happens every day to many people on things far worse than domain names. Has been going on for years and alas your story wont make it any better than the others. :(

I am sorry, but Godaddy undo dept can be quite good, just answer their questions clearly and don't write stuff like the above to them... they just need the facts the get things sorted.

    Good luck

I talked to them very respectfully, I was just saying that I will do what I posted above only in the case that I don't get my domain name back. Right now I am waiting for them to clear out the issue, I contacted both domain disputes department and undo department. Right now I am waiting. I am sure they will need some paperwork and I am getting it ready.

This is why all domain transfers should be done through an escrow service.. It won't stop all theft attempts, but it will help..
