I'm part of a forum and we are interested in selling ads to make the forum more profitable. I have no idea how to do this or what to charge. I'd love it if some of you experts here would take a look at the forum and let me know what you think about it in general and how much you think I might be able to get for advertising.

If you are interested in giving some helpful advice please PM me and I will reply with the forum URL.

    Thanks in advance. :)

Simple. Try to put adsense on your forum.

You should start out with adsense, if your forum becomes established and you get some decent traffic people will begin to send you emails asking for advertising.

At that point you will be the judge of how much links or banners are worth on your site. Theres alot of factors that will help you decide such as traffic, niche value and page strength.

    hope this helps

We have adsense, but we aren't making as much from it as we would like.

How much traffic is your forum getting? Perhaps it's the first thing that you should give more time and priority. You can not earn good money if you don't have good traffic.

It's never amazingly easy earning from forums that aren't reasonably popular, try other PPC's.

    We are trying bidvertiser also.

I was just wondering how much we might be able to get by selling ad space.

I would forget bidvertiser. You will get paid worse than adsense. Install a ad mod for the forum if you haven't already. Have memberships that people can pay for and don't have to see ads. It's always going to be hard though if you don't have very good traffic.

    To earn from a forum,
you must first give away things free.
    And also need interesting content.

Give it a couple of link baiting and find some members.
    Good luck mate.

I think you read my sig wrong. I am not paying people to post in my forum. I am offering to post in other people's forums, not the other way around. ;)
