Hello, I run a Dutch Xbox 360 website, and lately, my CTR has dropped to near 0. March was a good month, earned 80$, April was good for 75$, but this month I earn almost nothing. It is not because the PPC is less, but the CTR just dropped. I have around 5000 pageviews a day, and a CTR of 0,3 - 0,10. Can someone help me improving the placement of the ads? The website is http://www.360nieuws.nl. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I think the problem is the ads relevance. There're "buy x360" ads, but your visitors probably have xbox already
Gaming sites have some of the lowest CTRs around from what I've heard. Geeks don't click links, not ever. Many gamers are geeks, therefore many gamers won't be clicking links, no matter how well blended and relevant they are. Your best bet is to try to focus on a specific gaming market that has advertisers targeting that market. You might not have a lot of advertisers for your product, so you're ending up with generic gaming ads. Good luck, let us know what works!
Agree with dadasays. 2 more cents) : Why dont you try something different, like chitika or cj? Just think what can be interesting for your visitors (for example gadgets etc) and find relevant sponsors/affiliate programms
dont know chitika and cj, are they also delivering non-english ads? Dutch ones? I'll underline the links in the articles, so it looks more like the ad one. Color is already the same, but maybe it will drive a few more clicks. With the ad on top, what do you think will be best, a 468x60 below the title, above it, or some other ad format?
cant do that, thats a news headline normally, but we want the forum te be somewhat more occupied, so that's there to draw attention to it.
