It can depend on your hosting in order to work perfectly, but phplinkbid is a good script

This is a difficult directory model to startup nowadays

    Good luck with it

Edit: You will have to contact phplinkbid to know if the site will work on a subdomain. I have never installed the script on a subdomain, so I can't answer that.

Never go for phplinkbid, the bidding system sucks. You will soon find your website banned by google.

I agree with Humm, the bidding directories sector is as good as dead. My fiance's bid directories were penalised very badly and now its pretty much useless.

So it means, Google doesn't like bid directory in general? or it is because the script? How about a regular paid directory?

Since you are willing to switch from bid to paid directory so quickly, I think that you should really ask yourself why you are wanting to start a bid or paid directory.

It is good that you are doing a little research before diving in head first, but if you want a directory just to make money, you should probably switch again.

Is it possible to make money with a directory? Yes
    Is it easy? No
Is there much competition? You better believe it
    Think about it

    Good Luck

Personally, I think link bid directories were just a fad and have pretty much come to pass at this point.

You might make a few bucks off of one, but I wouldn't consider a bidding model for anything long term. They seem to hit a ceiling and then just fizzle out as they don't offer much in return.

I would personally suggest not building a bidding directory, you wont make any money for sure
