Hi everyone, Soon i will launch a website www.myesmee.com, it is my first time for web commerce business. i dont have any idea how to promote it. My budget on advertising is low due to no profit. Any advice or comments? It would be greatly appreciated. Regards myesmee
Well your on the right track by posting on this forum, and there are a few more that are worthwhile if you look around. Also try listing at a few directories, there are plenty of free ones out there. Exchange links, optimize your site for search engines, it all just takes time, if you have good content your on your way.
Write articles, write press releases, some people like free traffic exchanges (I don't) others like safelists. Go through all the posts here that pertain to what your looking for and you'll come up with a bunch more. Good luck. donrock
i will help you with your project all the way if i think there is an oppertunity for me in the future. pm me if interested.
Definitely include article marketing in your promotional strategy. It's free, it's viral, it gets traffic, it gets backlinks from quality sites. Use your keywords in your bio resource & link them directly to the relevant pages on your site. If your site is designed well around your main and longtail keywords and you have lots of backlinks coming in on all those keywords too you should start seeing great results sooner rather than later. Traffic Exchanges are free & can be used to create traffic volume (generally not quality, just volume) which can help your site rankings too. Forums are great free resources too. Plus other Web2.0 sites such as video promotion, social networking sites etc. Blogs are free to setup, post great keyword optimised content there too & link back to your site's pages. All of this is FREE But you have to put the time & effort in and keep at it All the best. Dave
Hi myesmee Provide people with good useful content through articles, forums and your ezine, as well as your site. See Ken Evoy's sites about preselling Also, instead of trying to get a sale directly all the time get recommended by others through the quality of your product or service. Again, use the above and any social networking angle. Personally, I have not found traffic exchanges or safelists much use: a lot of time wasted. But, of course, it's your choice. Really, best to make your top priority as building your list through opt-in forms on your site, and on squeeze pages (traffic exchanges could be useful here if you can make the squeeze page interesting enough ). Then advertize in articles and forums etc, that squeeze page URL. Once submitted you could take them through to your site, or do that through your ezine. This is all basically free. I hope this helps. Joe Fuller
I would recommend that you find someone to create a marketing budget. There are lots of people on here looking for others to do odd-end jobs such as content writing. It certainly isn't going make you rich anytime soon but it is what I used to get at least a few bucks to put up some advertisements at other places. Also, article marketing is a good free method to advertising. You can also do link building and begin working on SEO. Those are a few places that will help you bring in visitors if you are dedicated.
Combine it with a blog, then you can submit all of your blog posts to digg.com and propeller.com. Also you can submit your blog to blogdirectory.com. I get quite a bit of traffic from that. Also, make a profile on stumbleupon.com and then stumble your own pages. You will get some hits from that. Also, get a link to your site in your signature in every forum you are on. You have no link in your sig right now. These are all ways to get free traffic.
Try social networking sites like stumbleupon, digg, etc. These are a great way to not only get the word out, but see how other people rate your site, and what kind of feedback you receive. Make sure you have a holistic marketing plan that includes site optimization, link building, and relative content. Once you get visitors to your site, use analytics tools to gain visibility into how long people stay on your site, where they came from, what they do when they get to your site, etc. One more tip on the social networking sites - you can promote your own web site or blog, but also become a contributer to gain respect, rather than becoming a spammer. Rate and comment on other sites and blogs. This will help to gain trust, and also gives you good karma!
