Hi, I have a free online games site and do not have any game instructions. In other words I have a small description of the game, but don't have any of the game control instructions. I was wondering would it be best to get writing some or is it not really that important as the game control instructions are normally embedded in the game somewhere in the menu of the game. Do you kids and other game players read these instructions on the site, do you find they are go and is this a reason why you would prefer to play games on sites that offer game control instructions to sites that don't. I wanna know whether I should add game control instructions to each game on my site or if it is not neccassary as they are in the game itself. If I have to then I will have to go through 600+ games, which will take me about a month to do. Thanks for all advice.
I think the best advice I could give you would be to tell you that this probably isn't the right crowd to ask the question to... have some people you know in person test out your site and see if they can figure out how to play the games.. if not, you probably need more instructions. On average, the DP-user is going to be much more tech-savvy than a typical visitor to your site.
You are probably right. I was wondering if maybe there were a few youngsters or game players in here that know what would work best or even maybe people who actually run and own their own free online games sites.
Actually it may be best to also have the instructions on the site as if I get none english visitors using a language translator then I wouldn't imagin that it would translate any of the words in the actual flash game so the visitor will not be able to read the instructions where as, on my site it will translate the instructions into their language.
You should have gameplay instructions, thats what most newbies look for, then you must have walkthroughs, cheats, screenshots, saves and the like IT
Thanks. I will now be adding gameplay control instructions and a longer game description of up to 100 words.
