Please help - Cannot get traffic to my site - Any ideas?

    Hi everyone,

    I have had my site up for about 6 months, and has been listed with over 500 directories, nice links on sites, but still my traffic is not even above 1000UV per day.

    Its a picture rating site - www [dot] sexyornot [dot] us

    I have started a forum, which is doing good. I have tried myspace bulletins, which worked well, but right when I stop them, the traffic goes back to where it was.

    Any ideas? I will REP people who give some good feedback :)

    Don't advertise it on other related sites?
    People do that for backlinks only,mostly!
    The traffic was worthless IMO.

    For search it does ok. On MSN when you search "Picture rating site" my site is number 1

    I just dont know how to get traffic to it. :)

    Try social bookmarking websites.. they usually bring in lots of traffic for me.

    It is hard to get traffic. Many people here struggle to get traffic. Having good rank in MSN isn't anything special. I have some amazing rankings in MSN but very poor traffic from it. For those rankings Google sends 10x-20x more visitors.

    More aggressive myspace advertising and backlinks from popular sites with a similiar concept may prove to be helpful.

    1000 uniques in 6 months is pretty good, in fact, I would say you are doing well. Keep getting some highly realted link. They seem to have a good impact on SERPS, and of course do not forget content itself.
