This is my first attempt at really starting a website. The site is cruise related and the best way I could describe it is what would happen if digg and yahoo answers got together and had a baby. Its still pretty rough around the edges but please let me know how I can improve it.

I like the concept. I would work on a nicer header; maybe a little more professional looking. This is a great niche and if promoted right, you could attract a lot of visitors.

    Good Luck

    Hello BurghBoy.

I had a chance to view your site. I'll do my best in reviewing this for you.

    MY REVIEW

    Logo & Header
I like the simplicity of the logo header. My suggestions would be to capetalize the letters FAQ... so that it reads CruiserFAQs.com

Maybe you could just add a little color to your boat and that would be good enough. I think to much would take away... unless you actually get a photograph for your header with a huge Cruise Ship going by... with your domain text...

    Navigation
The navigation is good but it seems repetitious with the modules on the right side... I would recommend removing the following right side modules:

    • Register/Log-In
    • Future CruiserFAQs

    Blog
I'd recommend some images/pictures to go with each blog posting. Something sort of related... have a look at lifehacker... this is a good sample of this... but not necessarily in their alignment...

    Content
Have a friend or family member scan through your site for content errors and ideas. If they are to busy... look at hiring a content editor... I know on DP you can find some good writer/editors... If you are still having trouble... then pm me... and I'll refer you to a good writer/editor

Thats my 2bits on this site. I do hope it helps you some.

    Respectfully.

I capitalized the FAQ and removed the two modules though I may put the future CruiserFAQs module back in.

I always knew the logo needed some work. I was thinking of just putting a circular background behind the ship with the top portion being the golden sunset color and the bottom being the ocean blue color. Problem is I have no graphics abilities what so ever.

    Any more suggestions from anyone?

    Hello BurghBoy.

Good to hear back from you. I think having a designer work on your logo would be good. There are designers here that are quite affordable and do an excellent job. I think this would benefit you tremendously.

Let me know when you have updates.

    Respectfully.

Found a good designer that did the job really well and really fast. So I replaced my logo. Not sure if it shows up right in all browsers. I won't know that til I get back to work in a couple days. Let me know if you like it or if it shows up funny at all.

    Thanks,
    Burghboy

    Hello BurghBoy

    Sorry for the slow response.

Had a look at your new logo. Good to see the improvements. Would it be ok to remove that grey background. It looks like an imperfection. Also... could it be enlarged and aligned to the left? Right now in my browser... it is center aligned.

    Hope that helps again.
