Hey there, I'm holding a contest to redesign my website www.traditionalirishgifts.com I've a bunch of entries in and I'd really like some constructive opinions on what looks best and what works best. I should point out that the designers haven't been completely sticking to the brief and there should be 6 Guinness related categories (and images) plus another 16 Categories (and images) which I'll need to add in when I've chosen the style. I want the site to look like it's been professionally designed and not just some dopey website thrown together by someone in the back office of a dodgy gift store who's attempting to learn some html If possible please put yourself in the position of someone who is looking to buy either some Guinness related merchandise, an Irishy novelty gift or some fancy Aran sweater and please give me your critique of the following. http://www.traditionalirishgifts.com/designcontest.php
It's not the first link you should visit! It's the second one, the first is the old site which is getting redesigned! PLEASE look at the 2nd LINK Thanks
Nice one jewelraz, sure look at the wrong link too. <-- scarcasm I've posted on a couple of forums, the members of this forum are the only ones who don't bother to read past the first line. Super dooper
personally i would go for number 2 think it has a nice clear layout easy to read great colours for the irish theme. Like the orange buttons on this as well, there is a theory that big orange buttons are more likely to make people buy. I use them on my ecomerece sites and they seen to work well.
pretty interesting site and Lots of products with price and preview. Your site design is with some cool colors. So I like you site.
Personally I like number 3 . I think it's perfect design for your site. I hope you will select number 3 for your site.
3 looks like a generic wood looking template where they just plugged the plain logo in that square, and not Irish or very creative.
3 is the definate win not hard on the eyes the colors are contemporary, I think it would be cool to add even more uniqueness where it says traditional Irish gifts isn't there something most Irish people would know by looking at it? Like a symbol or some design or even a image that without saying it someone would say oh that is such and such.
