why has the link in my first post been change to tinyurl and not my site that i am selling.

and why have i recieved a infraction???

    where was the referral link?????

i used tinyurl to mask the site i am selling from showing up in search engines.

Looking at the thread, it says "masked link" as the reason for the edit. The rules say you can't use masked URLs in your posts.

If the masked URLs are in the posts, then those posts would be subject to infractions as well. Mods aren't out witchhunting, looking to hand out infractions for fun. They manage and maintain this forum in a professional manner and handle reported posts, complaints, and enquiries as they brought to their attention by the members.

Masked URLs can be deceptive and lead to spam, inappropriate sites, and other unwelcome linking. It would be impossible to moderate every single masked link, so they have been deemed inappropriate for this forum.

but why then just change the link to tinyurl.com rather than inform me to change asap?

what about an infraction for the guy in that thread who claimed 2 people had placed bids were fake???

    well, smyrl?

Mods can't go pm'ing and informing everyone. They have lots of work anyway.

Also wouldn't you find it suspicious if two people with 1 or 2 posts placed bids and you were a prospective buyer ?

It's just one infraction, it'll expire and it doesn't do anything too bad. Read and follow the rules and you will never have any more.

    p.s : Well, something just happened ......
