For that kind of blog, taking a one column layout would be a better IMO, i.e. without the sidebar. WordPres default theme (Twenty Eleven) can be set to have just one column from "Theme options" once you activate the theme. Later you may found other theme if you do not wish to stay with the default one.
cool site i see potential in your site but you gotta enrich your content more though maybe add user comments like facebook comments

I agree with bengal, I also see the potential in your site. how ever, not only you may need to update your content more, but also a little bit a personality would help with this kind of site. Add piece of "yourself" in to the site by writing a more attractive about page (especially before you add more interesting content to your site) Hope it helps.
