Give me your honest feedback about my ads...

*Note: I realize the menu is not functional yet, but it will be soon. Also, I'm planning on aligning everything on the menu, just haven't had a chance yet.

Thanks in advance to all the great member of DP!

I think there's too many. It seems like the page is surrounded by ads...

    Just my thought.

I got rid of the leaderboard and switched to a half banner, let me know if that takes away from the "boxed in" look...

alfie, you need to work out the actual design of the site first, then think of the ads. I just see a lot of blue and white, the vast majority of it being advertising. You have too many ads, with little useful content.

I know I sound scathing, but really content comes first. Get the visitors, keep them coming and reading and work in ads into the content.

I already have a blog that is getting about 1500 uniques a day and over 2000 page clicks a day (http://investing1848.blogspot.com). I'm planning on redirecting traffic in about two weeks to this new blog, and I just want everyone's opinion on how effective they think the ad placements are (and any comments on the design are welcome also)....

You have the maximum number of ads allowed by google 4,
Your text takes up less then 20% of the space, and about 50%-60% is taken up by google ads.

If you are asking for a genuine opinion, the whole thing looks like a 'made for adsense' site.

As for placement, the ads are placed well for people to get confused and click on ads by accident, but placed very badly if you the purpose of the site is top provide information.

Up and left is generally better. If your site is just trying to get people to click ads it looks about perfect. If you are actually trying to make a legit site I would get rid of the left had skyscraper and the ad below the article location, as well as make sure visitors will be able to tell the difference between your navigation menu and the ads.

Yeah, I'm aiming for a mix between the two. I want to have an informative site that can get as many clicks as possible.
