this freebie section is overloaded with diggs and stumble requests, most of which are actually not free as they require you to do it back.

could a mod (or if only the admins can do it) please filter out this, and make a subforum for diggs and stumbles and whatever else. so we can go back to seein some nice real freebies again.

thanks, and please dont give me an infraction for this thread as i sincerely think its needed and i'm sure the others here agree.

I think they should ban digg and stumble trading posts, This kind of thing is spamming. In my mind its as bad as trading lists of emails.

If a site doesn't deserve to be dugg is shouldn't be dugg.

Good luck with getting your point across in here. ;) This is DP, people don't care where they get links from as long as it has PR, and they don't care what they digg as long as they get one back. I think a subforum would be nice, because then the active diggers can bump every thread with their lame stories and maybe one day they will get sick of each others and start writing stuff that actually has value. ;)

You do have a good point, but I guess we are all guilty of link whoring in one way or another. I don't bother trying to get my stuff dugg much because there is so much crap there.

I do not agree to ban the exchanges though because censorship in any form is bad.

You could take that approach... Or you could take the approach that all spamming is bad.

I myself have started this thread on my forum trying to get some ideas on what it takes to write a story that makes it. I had a few on the front page and have to say most people here waste their time daily. So maybe what we need it to have something postitive where we share pointers. Digg has already been sick of this place.

i find that current events that people are interested in make it to the front, the first person to report it on digg gets the front page

I AGREE that All the diggs, stumble, delicious Exchanges and requests should be in a Sub Section, in all cases this is not the freebie section anymore because people are asking for something in "exchange".

I agree with you. I think the point of Digg was to submit articles but I see more and more stuff submitted like a description of a proxy site or stuff like that. I have only submitted true links to good articles. I guess though just like on here, people will do what they can to get links, even it it does not fit.

Isnt it against the Digg TOS to request Diggs anyway? I am sure NamePros have stopped this sort of request due to Diggs TOS.

I don't suppose digg can do a lot about it, Though i'm fairly sure if you asked them they would say they don't like it. The digg algo will catch these people out. Next week they will be here crying "digg banned my site for no reason" like they do when google ban them for "only clicking thier own ads a few times".

Personally, Whenever i see a digg request on any forum i go bury it as spam.
Fight fire with fire is what i say.

But on DP anything goes, so what should be done is to isolate it so that those who are not interested won't be forced to read it. I would even like to have it set up so that it doesn't show up under new posts either.

Yes it is against the TOS but it is being done all over. Once in a while, I have known a couple, they ban your account. That is why it is best not to list a live link but people keep doing it.

This has already been suggested in the suggestions and feedback area a while ago however it would be a nice addition.
