I have looked at Sitepoint for real profitable businesses and taken a good look around elsewhere, including here. Here are my ideas, please add to this list. But what else is there? - content site monetised by Adsense/affiliate products - blog monetised by Adsense/affiliate products - create and sell databases - sell dropship products - sell herbal pills (own stock) - social community site, revenue for Adsense and banners - arcade site, monetised with CPM - video marketing with CPA - freelance article writer - article directory - link directory - "tube" site, monetized by Adsense, banners Please add any others you can think of, especially the less obvious ones to benefit everyone.
