There is no law and it always depends on the outgoing links of the page you have your backlink on. Usually a good pr4 will be enough.

You need 1 from a PR4 site, 3 PR3, 20PR2 or 100 PR1 about; assuming there are not more than 10 other links on those sites.

Nobody knows for sure. Try to obtain as many links and see the result. Also your site content is important.

There is no way to answer this question correctly. You might as well be asking, "How many days does it take to become a millionaire."

One link from the right URL might get you PR3... 1000 links from other URLs might leave you sitting at PR0. It just depends on the URLs linking to you, their PRs, the number of outbound links on each of those pages linking to your, and a number of other things.

Very well said... The flow of PR juice depends on not only the PR of the page from where your backlink originates... but also on the number such backlinks present around yours. There can never be any definite answer to the number of links required to attain a PR. One has to just concentrate on getting quality links... as many as possible.

If links, content and domain are relevant they will certainly pull a good search engine traffic. But PR is not predictable for the sites which are lower than PR8. It's like Alexa ranks higher than 1,000.
PR, Alexa and the similar tools are reliable indicators and predictable only for the a few most powerful sites.

    Hi,

Generally speaking, all dofollow back links would be helpful for PR purpose. Of course, if you could receive back links from niche relative, authority, high PR sources, it would help more. :)

    all the best,

Nothing specific you can tell about the number of links you need to get your site to PR2....Still getting some amount of quality links can get you PR2 but if you want to get PR more than 4 then you should have more and more highly quality links..
