Side track a little bit, but as Jude is talking about a similar topic, I thought I request people who bought links or has got a link with me to check the my links directory to make sure that their links are in the right category... Amit told me the other day that if i installed the "mass subcategory adder" mod, something might happen to the directory... So if you guys can take a glance at it, if you has got a link with me.. and pm me if there is anything wrong with your listings.. Thank you..
Thanks for answering. But as professional buyers and sellers and both of you knew that you have sitewides on the site one of you should have the audacity to contact the individual owners. Now how should I know when did the actual thing happened. Its a matter of RESPONSIBILITY and No Offence meant. I have my paypal receipts for the subcription and non subscription. I think both of you could give us a clue on how to resolve this. I'm slowly learning the trade too just like you. My directories have sitewides too but soon very soon some are coming off. (expiring) and I'll wait patiently till the season ripens.
I alway preach that buying long-term links from newish sites of trustworthy members is the way to go. But most folks other than the pros still don't do it
things like this give not as known sites like mine a bad name.Im striving to build up my site and make revenue to build more links and advertise, while others take the money and run..that blows..
I am keeping tracks of my site-wide. I have listed the date --URL of the site-Price etc. and checking them every other day. I am having only one concern --its with a Persian site --I wrote the guy and he says he has my links. But when I visit I can't see it. I'll write to him again asking an explaination. Basically one must create an Excel Spread-sheet ( please do the hardwork if you don't want this to happen again).
I guess that reading this thread I done the right thing before promoting my new directory, thanks guys I will keep tabs on what I do.
Again. It's all about who you should trust. I try my best to be careful on buying site-wide links as they are usually costly. But ultimately, it's all about how professionaly the business is done. If a person is trying to rip you off, it doesn't matter how cheap the price is!
I occasionally check to see who is visiting one of my directories and I see one guy is meticulously, nay, obsessively checking to see if his link is there using site:link command on Google. Nothing wrong with that, I should be more aggressive in checking links. I think I will start now.
LOL, I track links to over 100 websites (ours and our clients) every day However, it just the matter of pushing a button .
hey, seriously don't think clicking hundred buttons and checking 100 links is a trivial effort & personally, wld rather spend it building more links. But if it works for you, keep it up! I check my links abt once a mth on average. But that's just me....
LOL. I push 1 button to check all the sites Normally I would agree with you, but since we track for our clients, we need to know the day a link comes down......so we just track them all. Morty
As a matter of fact, it just alerted me that links on voisd.com is broken. Looks like voisd.com (directory) account has been suspended??
Sorry about the slight down time - my hosting account was not due to run out until tomorrow, hence i was going to change the dns settings tomorrow - seems my host has suspended my account a few hour early - its sods law it would happen the weekend i was away from home... Voisd.com is now directed to my new hosting where the existing site is already up and running, applogies for the unexpected down time. Domain should resolve in the next few hours all being well.
This thread was in need of a bump (thanks), especially since i've noted over 5 dozen removals thus far. *ugh*
