OK have changed a few locations of my adsense on my blog. I have them in the following locations: 1 x Link Block under top navigation 2 x Image ads top and bottom of Sidebar 1 x Banner top of each post 1 x Link Block bottom of post I think it all fits in quite well please let me know what you think: Technology and Computing News
I'm willing to bet that the ad unit right below the post title is not getting many clicks. I know, because I used exactly the same placement on one of my sites and although it did make some money, I had a strong hunch that I could improve the CTR dramatically. So I placed a large rectangle set to "image only" at the very top of the page, above the header. This makes it the first and most prominent thing they see when they load the page. This is fully compliant with the Adsense TOS and increased my CTR by a lot. Please note that the earnings per click did not go down as a result of using "image only" ads. I realize that you may not be willing to do this to your specific blog, but what I'm saying is this: make a large ad unit as visible as possible as close to the top as possible. Do not worry about not appearing "classy" -- people these days are used to prominent ads and understand that server bills need to get paid. Users are more than willing to tolerate prominent ads if the website's content provides value to them. Experiment, be creative and be willing to take risks -- you can always change the ads, so you're not committing yourself to anything. Give it a shot and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for the great ideas. Do you think it will make a difference if I move the ad from below the post title to above it?
Now that the topic was about checking the placement, can anybody check my ad placement too? Rangla-5ab Another thing, It's been around a week since I got approved by adsense and put up the ads but the language of the ads in the inner section of the forum is not English. Why is that?
Very clean site. Ad square is good. Maybe blend the color of the banner on the inside pages to match the site color, but good placement.
