Blog is good but you should make some attractive design for it. Something like http://onlinepokershow.blogspot.com/ or http://www.eclectictrades.com/
Needs some color, graphics and photos to make it more pleasing to the eye. It's boring when you first land on the page.
Homepages need more than that, too much text, add some pictures or a combination of colors .. maybe other people will be interested to see the next page .. good luck
