Hi, i am a freelancer currently working in Ireland. I have two projects on at the moment. One is for a client the US and the other is for a client based in the UK.

How should i ask my clients to pay me, should i give them my bank details and get them to lodge the money into my account or what is the best way. Sorry, i am completely new to this so the more advice and options the better, thanks in advance

I think you can use paypal/moneybookers payment service instead of wire transfer.

Yeah, just enter your banking details at Paypal and then whenever money turns up in your Paypal account and you want to transfer it to your bank, just initiate a transfer at Paypal (just look for "transer) and it will take about 3 -4 days to be live at your bank. So don't write any checks for that amount or try to make withdrawals untill you make sure the money has gone through. But after you're used to it, the process is very simple.

If you have an ongoing, regular client that is reputable you can see about setting up direct deposit to your bank, but you will have to pay lots of international fees to get your money from US clients. Paypal is cheaper. They do take out some fees for processing, though - so be sure to factor that into your rates.

Paypal is usually the best because most people know what it is and trust it.

Yes you can withdraw the money to your CC or bank account.
Just link your bank account to the paypal then you are ready to use.

PayPal is probably the best method of payment for you. PayPal has a built-in credit card processor, so you'll be able to accept credit cards as well.

If PayPal is something you can work out, definitely use it. You may pay fees, but they are worth it in the long run. Plus, you may find it hard to work out the logistics with the buyer when it comes to a bank transfer; especially if you are in a different country.

Use paypal, you have to pay fees with any of the websites out there (stormpay or alertpay) but a lot of people dont have those accounts.

Paypal is the best method to get payment from your clients and it is free to create an account with pay pal.
