Nice site! It all looks really well designed. The only thing I'm not a big fan of is the Headliner's auto-scroll. I'd much prefer to see it static, or slow down the speed at which it scrolls. It was a little difficult to read with it moving fast.
I would really have to agree about the auto-scroll. Slow it waaaayyy down or don't have it at all. Very distracting and a pain to read. Also, call me stupid, but I was having a hard time figuring out the topic of your site? What is your site about? News? News of a certain type? I think you need to narrow down the things you offer and your site and really make those few topics great....
Terrific and intuitive design. I'd have to echo the sentiments regarding the auto-scroll, it is a bit distracting and not really necessary. also if I was being super-picky, the green and red wouldn't have been my first choice for the logo colors, but I can be weird when it comes to color schemes, so I'm sure its just a personal preference. Anyhow, great work all around! Good luck!
Thanks guys I agree, scrolling needs to go/remain static. Union, what color scheme would you go with. Firegirl, the site is supposed to be a PPC search engine andl web/news portal. Been contemplating narrowing down the focus also but can't decide what exactly. If anyone has a suggestion as to what, please tell.
Like i said it is totally just personal preference, but I really dig the scheme you have in your "Precise and Impartial approach" jpg, in the sidebar. I'd probably integrate that scheme into the header, I just think it looks a bit more subtle and classy. However, I am by no means an authority.
truedesign4u is right, that site is awesome. Easy on the eyes, and easy to navigate across. nice work.
Thanks for all the input guys. Had a few changes done such as the header graphic http://portduo.com and logo color scheme. For the scroll...if you move cursor anywhere in the scroll area it should pause. Any other suggestions are welcome.
The top bar is a little too heavy for me. It seems that the site is top heavy, maybe add a wighted footer that balances the vertical weight a little better.
You could use some fresh icons on the top right, they're kinda bland, and not attractive at all. Your navigation could be spiced up simply with photoshop, add in some nice overlayed lights and whatnot on mouseover.
The website is a little bit crowded for my tastes, try spacing out the middle part because you have so much space on the sides. Overall it looks great though, nice work.
Good idea, I'm looking into implementing a big vertical banner type of ad placement on the right. Wyattt, I'm hesitant to expand the main area due to horizontal scrolling for people on 800x600 res.
I like this site alot. It looks professional and you incorporated the links very well into the overall design.
yeah visually it looks good, i would like it better if the auto scroll was a manual thing instead. also ive always liked sites that have the content buttons/links(sorry i dont know the lingo) on the left hand side in some manner of a vertical menu but that is just my personal preference.
Perhaps the body-space between the blue header and footer could be of any other color than white for the site to give impression of unity of structure, if header&footer are significant in size, from side-to-side and of strong colors white white body-space in between, it may give the sense that site's design is not fully finished. Light blue for background could match nicely.
