Please assess the relative importance of 50 directory listings

Do you think it will really boost pagerank and help me target certain keywords by having those keywords in my description in 50 directories. I am weighing the benefits of taking the time to find 50 free directories from the sticky thread at the top of this forum and posting to them.

 

surely it will give you important backlink and more visitors as google love directories..

 

I believe, it does help. I do it often and need to do it more and with more websites.

 

Depends on the quality of directories......if they have good PR and you will get approved in relevant category after submission it may be but having keywords in your target keyword is more important than having keywords in description.

I suggest you to focus on getting SE ranking and not worry so much about PR.

Because you wont be spending any money you have to be realistic in your expectations.

You cant shop without money, well you can if you go shoplifting, but yeah, spend nothing and have realistic expectations.

 

I think that directory submission should be one of many "link building" methods.

 

If you don't know that directory submission will help your website, then I do not know how in the world you will properly pick which 50 directories to submit to.

Since you are not planning to spend any money, then all you will lose is time. So go ahead and submit because it is better than wasting your time contemplating.

 

True, but that's like saying if you make something yourself it's going to be crap. You could pay someone to submit your website to 50 directories, but it's not going to be any better than if you did it yourself. There's a lot of free links out there that are good, and a lot that are bad. There's also a lot of paid links out there that are good, and bad. So really - it depends on the 50 directories you're submitting to. Do they have poor editing standards, are the directories relatively established? Make sure you have a good list, and not a junk one.

Http://info.vilesilencer.com is a pretty good list. Dan is very selective about which directories to add, for obvious reasons.

Directory Submission work for you all the times but when you do it's just Be careful and you should do directory submission on rolling basis and you should have to good list of Directory it's should be accept your sites in limited period so it's worth your effort if you submit 1000 directory and approval is around 100 it's like 10% of approval ratio so you should keep in minds then your approval ratio must be gets as much higher as possible. and as far as key words is concern you should have to target your sites Key words with Different Anchor text it's will improved your SERPS.

 

I think 50 directories submissions will not be improve your page rank factor. It will only be helpful while indexing of the website!
