Well, if you don't spend a lot of time on it, then yes why not. But for me it hasn't a lot of potential, but what do I know, I'm not into small niches sites.
Thanks, Is 10000 exact math a month consider a small niche...with and the phrase indicates people want to buy
I don't know but for me from what I've read, number one on the first page of google is 25% of searches. So at best it could be 2,500 unique visitors a month, which is less than 100 a day. I am aiming at several thousand daily traffic in order to monetize a site correctly. As I said I'm not into small niches sites so I don't know. Perhaps someone with experience in this can answer you correctly.
For instance on my most recent site (in my sig) I target things which start with "best ..." or "top 10 ..." or indeed "top X ..." or "best ... review" I choose broad niches because my aim is to get as many thousand unique visitors daily as I can, that's the quickest way I've found to earn money, I just use PPC ads so I don't have to look for relevant affiliate programs. I could use also CPM ads but never found or looked long enough for a good CPM network.
I've always targetted super targeted small niches for ex. security systems +geo...I can get 10 visitors and sell 1 I make 250..to each his own though
Yes, I know there's probably more money to be made in affiliate programs and/or very high CPC niches, but my problem is that I have spent all my time developing ways to get a lot of traffic, not targeted, and it paid very well with adsense, so I was always on a trend to earn more with adsense, and I neglected affiliate program although I've also made a lot from time to time when I realized some pages were well positionned on the name of an ebook (I have an account at clickbank) and then simply by adding the link to the ebook I could make many sales per day, and at $25 each, it quickly adds up. But those rankings didn't last more than a few months because they were just random, one page created amongst many others, where affiliate marketers build whole sites around some ebooks and I didn't even try to compete or make a site about that, it simply dried out and I get the occasional sales from time to time. Perhaps if adsense bans my account someday, then I'll quickly go to affiliate marketing
