I've purchased a few .com's with a high number of monthly searches and low competition. Any thoughts, appraisals, tips, etc will highly be appreciated. Now, I know Google Adwords/Keyword Spy are not entirely accurate, but in my mind they provide decent statistics. Site 1: HowtoPolish.com According to Google adwords tool - (165,000 Global and 110,000 local monthly searches) According to Keyword Spy (246,000 searches per month) Ideas: This site will target low competitive keywords such as: how to polish a car how to polish stainless steel how to polish silver how to polish aluminum etc... And may even target clickbank products. Site 2: HowtoFilter.com According to Google adwords tool - (246,000 Global and 165,000 local monthly searches) According to Keyword Spy (450,000 searches per month) Ideas: This site will target low competitive keywords such as: how to filter spam how to filter water how to change a filter how to change air filters etc... Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!
You should gauge the value of domain names by the exact searches/month and not by broad searches/month. Just checked with adwords keyword tool, these keywords get around 300 exact searches/month, which is quite low. But here are the plus points: 1. The keywords "how to polish a car", "how to polish stainless steel" etc. get over 1000 exact searches/month and have good average CPC. 2. they are .coms, so you may succeed in selling them in Low-Mid $xx range (if undeveloped). The developed site will be much much more valuable though. Good luck!
