Hi guys I own www.the-inbetweeners.com. The Inbetweeners is a sitcom that has now expanded. I bought the domain when the show first launched in England. Now it has a movie and has launched in the USA too. Ideas of its value? Thanks, Mike
not even mentioning possible trademarking issues, I think it only worth its registration fee for "the" and "-"
The domain isn't ideal because of the points atxsurf mentioned but that is only one piece of the puzzle. How many backlinks does it have? What sort of traffic is it attracting? How often do you update the site? Does the site rank in search engines? The thing with websites like this is you're competing with huge stores like Amazon, Play.com and eBay for search engine placement so you need really strong content and at first glance the website is lacking in this department. I don't actually think you could make a strong website about a tv show like this, there just really isn't much potential for unique content as its the usual stuff like plot, characters, a few clips (or full episodes if you want to risk a lawsuit) etc and anyone searching for The Inbetweeners will more than likely already know these things. Depending on how far you want to take it I would suggest trying to build a community/forum around the show, that way your users create the content and managing it will still be quite passive, only requiring minimal effort once its finished. Episode guides, in depth character bio's, that sort of thing will expand the site massively and give it more weight. At the moment it just looks like you've spent half an hour throwing some stuff together.
As the post before me says.. it looks like you've just knocked up the site in 30 minutes. Who do you think your potential buyers could be? If you can name a few then maybe try and market it to them but I think the price you'd get wouldn't be very high as they could just as well make their own with 'fansite' or 'site' or 'online' at the end of the url
