I think I know what is sitemap and how it helps.
As far as I know there are two kinds of sitemap. One for visitors and one for search engines. Am I right?

I want to make a sitemap for my static site linking to some of my other sites. I think I need to make two sitemaps (one xml and one html), right?

    Two Questions:

    1. Where to make the xml sitemap fast and best?
    2. If I want the sitemap to submit to google search engine then where can I submit, from google website?
    3. Where to make html sitemaps fast and best?
    4. Any thing to take care for sitemaps?

    Thanks! :)

You mean xml sitemaps and google sitemaps is different?

What is the difference, seems like Google sitemap is specifically for Google and xml sitemaps are for all search engines?

I think I can make Google sitemaps directly from http://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps and submit it .... Is that so?

Whereas If I make xml sitemaps, I just need to upload that to my server or I need to submit to specific search engines?

    Thanks all!

Google started XML sitemaps protocol. Now more search engines support the format.

You can now even use robots.txt to help all search engines find your sitemap xml file.
You can read my blog post about robots.txt and xml sitemaps if you wish.

Try this ror sitemap generator, which is supported by most major search engines, including google. If you website has more than 1000 pages, you shall download a desktop version sitemap generator to make the xml file for you. After that, upload the file to your google webmaster account.

Sitemap will only help spiders crawl your website, it doesn't help too much in SEO.
