When I do a google search for my website on my computer at work it comes up on the first page. When I search for my website on my home computer it comes up on page 18. Why?

Will need further information about this, did it happen the same day, did you try the next day at work if your site still comes up on the first page? Is the behavior consistent (happens always)?

If it's a newly indexed pages then it's normal and happens all the time, Just wait for a day or two till your website indexing gets synchronized on various Google Data Centers..

Even though, since the first of this year.. Google starts to show different results based on the IP Address of the one searching ;)

If you're logged into a google service on one computer- gmail for example - you're getting personalized results based on your search history. Sign out, clear your cookies, and see what results you get.

You might be using different versions of Google on your PC and at work. Usually search results from Google.co.uk and Google.com are different.

as magda pointed out you might have been logged into your google account as you saw your site on page 1 because you got your personalised results. i know it was pleasing, it happened to me too. if you log out your SERP position will be about the same on both computers provided you do the search on the same day but not exactly the same

Well it may possible that at home you login with your Google Accounts and you used " Promote " option which puts you always on first page.

It can happen if you are logged into your Google Account.
And, if your site is new, its quite normal.
