please advise

i have just transfered my site to a new server

the database transfer seems to have gone ok

but i or any members cannot login anymore using the username and passwords stated in the database

any ideas

 

Check the login script and/or the database and see if the passwords are encrypted using md5.

I am currently locked out of one of my admin sections for the same reason. Some one offered me a suggestion for fixing it in the last two weeks if you want to search my username it might give you a starting point.

I think I am just going to hack the login script for my use.

 

make sure the transfer is OK. dose the main site connect to the database suvcesfully?

 

Check the ports theyre logging in under.

if youre speaking about WHM...then make sure theyre using domain/cpanel

 

Are you using encryption to store password data...

 

Are you sure anyone can't login? If so you can reset admin's password to "admin", md5=21232f297a57a5a743894a0e4a801fc3

It may be not the best way but it will help you get your forum running.
