If I were to start a site for embedded youtube clips of a specific genre, could I get in trouble if my domain was something like www.tubepost.com or www.tubeview.com (those aren't my domains)? Basically, I'm just wondering if the use of 'tube' in the domain and the fact that my site is full of embedded youtube videos could cause me legal problems with youtube.
I am not a legal expert , but I have seen "tube" domains around with youtube like websites, I am not sure how much success they have though or if they have faced any legal issues
I think you would run the risk of youtube being very interested in you if you were highly successful. Embedding their video's is bad and linking it via name to youtube is bad. As long as you have a few dozen viewers they wouldn't care but I would imagine if you were wildly successful you would get a knock on your door. The other domains would face the same unless they like some out there are actually using their own user submitted videos.
Why is embedding youtube videos bad? For example, I want to make a site like http://www.pandachute.com/ Using youtube would save me a lot on bandwidth
