    Dear Friends,

My business has taken a real hit due to the mysterious behaviour of Paypal and most unfortunately no one is aware of the fact that what actually happened and when it can get resolved.

I think, its high time that we Indians think of alternative payment gateways. I had a talk with my overseas clients and they recommend me of Alert Pay or Wire Transfer.

But I donot have any basic idea regarding both the methods. Could someone please let me know the processes involved? I have just gathered that through Alert Pay I donot get the funds transferred in my bank a/c. Then, I would like to know what is the method of getting the money?

Also, please elaborate on the issue of Wire Transfer (Requirements, Charges, Process and Time Period).

    Thanks in Advance.

    :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Wire Transfer is the best, since its the direct BANK TO BANK Transfer.

Im going to ask all of my clients to send via Wire Transfer and Western Union this time, till PayPal gets resolved.

But, I think their fees are too high for transferring funds.

XOOM is also a good option with less fee..

there are many ways to receive money from Xoom.. like cash pickups, deposit in bank etc...

Definitely alertpay is not as user-friendly as XOOM or Wire-Transfer :)

Well, charges are not much high.. But its better to take it if you have a bigger amount of money. LIke atleast more than $100. Fee is around $8 to $40 depending upon countries. :)

And its really fast. You will get it within 3 or 4 days if its not any weekend. :D

    Oh thanks, mates..

Xoom is not offered by my client. its toss-up between alertpay or wiretransfer..

my payment ranges around US $ 500 and it comes from US.. what could be the charges for it?

could you please elaborate on the process of initiating wire transfer. i mean, should i inform anything to my bank about the transfer and what all information should i intimate to my clients? i am totally ignorant of the process. please advise.

Well, you don't need to do anything. Simply give your bank account details to your Sender. And he will send it. :) But your bank should have a Swift code. I mean a International bank like HDFC or ICICI.

    Swift Code??

Does SBI has it? I have accounts with SBI and HDFC and I would like to use SBI for the purpose.

    Any idea mate?

And what could be the approximate charge for the purpose with the said amount and the said country?

    Thank You Again
