for your own benefit you should find some inbound links, gain a nice PR and attract more traffic. More people will then want to join your business
It's hard to get a partner for 40% of nothing. You need to build it up first in order to attract someone to write and promote for you. 40% of adsense is not a good deal for a new blog...what I normally do is give the writer all of his adsense, and I get 100% of affiliate sales. (you would of course need a decent affiliate program). These days, not too many people would undertake someone elses new blog for such a cut, when, if they already have the know-how, could just start a blog of their own and get 100%.
