Hi, i am trying to play flash (swf) files on my PC. I have tried download Adobe Flash Player but that just seems to be for internet browsers. Is there a version that you can download for swf files that you have saved on your desktop, thanks in advance

VLC will play pretty much any media file. Last I checked, SWF was supported, albeit not extremely well but it should do the trick.

Open your web browser (preferably Google Chrome).

Have the window open but NOT maximized. Simply drag the .swf file into the browser window and it'll play from there. Works with all flash files.

Video Lan Client, or VLC is 50+ file types. Check this link: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/features.html for a complete list of compatibility.

As mentioned earlier, .swf videos will play smoothly with VLC. If it were me though, I would look into converting the .swf files to something more common to allow for a broader playback repertoire.

My colleagues use Irfan View, a freeware image viewer which can open swf files like any other image.

RealPlayer can play .swf files on your PC. When playing that type of file for the first time, it will prompt you to download a plugin.
