Hi all, I am planning to start a bans site but have some questions and i know all you guys are experienced at this. so here it goes... should i purchase either BANS, phpbayPro or the automaticonlineshop and i need recommendations on which one is the best as i'm fairly inexperienced to CJ. and with domain names, do you use generic names and use subdomains for niches or have separate domains for each niche? Also how do you guys drive traffic to your BANS sites? Do you use bum marketing with ezine, squidoo, etc. with links back to your sites or do you use PPC such as adwords, MSN, or Yahoo? Another question is I know without content, organic listings are impossible so what type of content do you guys add to the store? Is adding articles via xml from sources like ezinearticles to the store a bad idea? thank you for all your tips!
All these questions have been asked (and answered) a gazillion times in the last couple of months... Have a read through the last few pages of this forum - most posts in the CJ section these days are about eBay, and there's a lot of good info. They're both good. If you're an absolute beginner, then BANS might be a little simpler - plus they have a really good support forum. I always suggest getting a generic domain for starters, and using subdomains. It's cheaper, and easier to maintain (in my opinion). Organic SEO. Pick a niche you know something about - preferably a weird hobby. If you make your site about something you're interested in, you can easily write your own articles.
haha yup i was looking through the last 5 pages of this section and reading threads for the last 30 minutes since i've posted. you guys are geniuses with the websites. many of them look so well done! kudos!! oh there was 1 more question that i wanted to ask which is do you think these buyers care about alexa ranks and such? no right? as long as they look professional and the visitor is redirected to ebay it shouldn't matter i'm thinking..
Most people won't even know what Alexa is. Make your site look nice, but don't distract people from the eBay items. The sole purpose of any eBay/CJ site is to drop your cookie.
i've also noticed owners using adsense and amazon ads on some sites as well, i couldn't find a thread for this but wouldn't the clicks from the ads actually distract the customer from the ebay pages? would the best scenario be they click ebay item, opened a new window, they bid, cookie's already in place, they click on your adsense? Just thought niche store would not contain ads unless they too were profitable, more than cj's commissions. kerosene ur awesome! thanks for ur help subscribed to ur blog rss~!
