Well, you should take around 3GB RAM along with 320GB hard disk..
DVD RW would be good as you won't use Blu-Ray much.
And check out the ASUS LCD's, they are good. :)

You have not mentioned about the processor and do not mentioned company name as well.

Kindly do this ... this will help me to take decision.

try asking the tech in the store. but then i usually wanted to know the motherboard's feature. it really doesn't matter what those monitor are or hard disk is. you can always add RAM if it slows.

yes that's right! you have to ask the store techs so they can give you specifications that would meet preferences.

I am not at all agree with you. Asking tech store means they will promote that product which give maximum profit.

Instead of that you should search a bit on internet ... get the votes and according to that go for ...

Why should I bother about that ...

I would love to adopt simply way ...

Search yourself .. enhance your knowledge ... so that next time you do not have to rely on what they are saying and what they are recommending.

you should bother. the reason is that they know whats new.
and if you really want something good then of course ask the tech who's good about it and not what you assume you know.

Trust me, some of the tech staff don't know what they're talking about. Try to avoid believing 100% on what they recommend.

Before buying computer stuff, I always gather informations from variety of resources (e.g., websites, magazines, friends, etc.) first. Asking the tech guys in the store is always my last resort. :D

Go for a core2quad Q6600 go step or something similar, then go for a nice motherboard - something with PCI-Express and at least the capacity for 4gb of RAM.

Get yourself 2x2GB of kingston or similar brand ram - prefereably 800mhz or higher DDRII.

Graphics card get yourself a 4850 or 4870 ATI - NVIDIA are ok but not the best...

Hard Drive just get yourself a nice 500GB samsung SATA II or similar

Screens and tower just go to town
