Planning to buy me first laptop. Confused between sony and dell

    I hope I am not using the wrong place to ask my question. Please don't give me infraction for this :)

    I am planning to buy Sony Vaio VGN-CS14G (2.2 GHz/800MHz/3MB cache/ 2 GB RAM...will upgrade to 3 or 4/ intel graphics card 4500 MHD/ 1.3 mp camera/ bluetooth/ 3 hrs battery/ 2.6 kg)

    I have an option to buy same config dell XPS laptop...at same price

    really confused with which one to buy..dell or sony??

    some say that dell support is better but some say in sony you won't need support..

    I am in India. Any suggestions?

    Both are okay with regard to quality and settle for Sony vaio if you have extra dollars and if you are more concerned with value for money, go for the dell brand.

    I prefer Sony Vaio as i am also planning to buy one for myself in near few months. Dell is also good but Sony Vaio got my vote.

    If the specification and price are the same, I suggest you take Sony. Sony Vaio look way better than Dell XPS.

    Just my opinion.

    In India at least, I have been told that services of Sony leaves much to be desired.....

    A person whom I know, having bought a Vaio at about Rs.62,000 was given an estimate for repairing the same at a cost of Rs. 60,000. !!!!:eek:

    Beats me, how would a person feel in such situations....

    There are some good Lenovo laptops at 37K ,look into that also

    In Sony Vs Dell,I feel Dell is better than Sony..

    Yup.Both are good.. Dell,you can get support online..
    I prefer sony..Looks more visually pleasing than Dell

    In my opinion, Dell laptop computers are best. These computers are very easy to use and its performance is high. Also we get these computers at affordable price. These laptops bring integrated high-speed 3G connectivity and high performance in form factors, both small and large.

    When it comes to laptop ill suggest Sony Vaio or even Toshiba. Toshiba laptops are of great quality. Ive had Dell pcs but i must say i prefer HP I cant say anything of HP laptops cause havent used it but in laptops Toshiba is the best
