Planning to buy a assembled PC

    Hi all,

    Planning to buy an assembled PC for my cousin. Suggestions required. My cousin is studying in 9th standard. He is interested in gaming.
    I have a quotation, Tell me if there any change required in your view. An shop quoted this for RS 30000/- INR. - $620 . Hardware must be available in India :D

    *Core2Duo 2.93
    *31PR or 41RQ
    *2GB DDR II (which brand would be good - suggest)
    *500 GB HDD (SATA II or SATA II suggest, which brand would be best)
    *20 inch LCD TFT (looking for Samsung Glossy type, suggestion for other Brands are required)
    *Wireless keyboard and Mouse
    *Joystick with shock
    *DVD writer (which barand would be good - suggest)
    *Pen Drive 4 or 8 GB(which brand would be good - suggest)
    *SMPS (which brand would be good - suggest)
    *UPS (which brand would be good - suggest) Planning to buy V Guard
    *8400 GS Geforce SFX Nvdia 512 MB (suggest for better one - I am not a gamer so I dont know regarding this)
    *Speakers (Planning for a creative 2.1 SBS or Inspire)

    this is probably how i would look at it, note that before you buy, ask if all the parts will work together (ask your cousin, or call the shop)
    for ram i would go for the cheapest, well maybe not unbranded ram, but the cheapest made by company (eg kingston etc)
    hdd look for western digital, seagate, samsung
    dvd - as long as sata, any brand, i would look for something with write speed of 20x, also u might want it to burn dvds also
    pen drive, always go cheapest unless you want the fastest available
    and for video card, i am guessing u hav to get nvidia, so it is really simple, the higher the number, the better the card, until u get to 9800 then you start from 260 (i think) and go up to 295 (also the price is more expensive as you go up) also note that some will be nvidia 8400 and some will be nvidia 8400gs, obviously the one with the "gs" is the better.

    Before buying the parts separately make sure that they are all compatible, for Hard disk go for Seagate Maxtor(tried and tested). And also buy cheaper parts that has the same performance.
