Planning to build a mortgage site - Percentage of success?

    Hi guys,

I've done a quick research on google keywords and seen that the keyword "mortgage" has 185,000,000 searches last month and paid $15.37/click.

I'm planning to build a website, which provides information about mortgage such as articles, calculators, and a directory for mortgage related sites.

What percentage of success do you think this site is going to get? I'm just planning to make about $20/day from adsense.

Please give me some advices and opinions.

    Thanks,

i plan to spend a lot of time for it. since i will be having a directory, i could build a link exchange, which will help my site to reach a higher rank from search engines - maybe months or years from the time that my site is created.

Percentage of success? I depends on you. You can create the blog of any niche and the success will fully depend on your hard work, perseverance and patience.

if you dont like the niche you are doing and dont know it much your chances of success will suck as you will have loose content and not much interest in it.

    Hi,

IMO, the high CPC has its own reason: the niche is lucrative, as well as highly competitive for both advertisers and publishers. Ideally, that $15/click is not always the case. You could still get $0.5 a click, depending on what kind of ads displayed in your site.

I run a mortgage blog, and to say the least, getting traffic is a bit of a challenge, as there are many good mortgage sites out there.

So, rate of success - it depends on what kind of site you're going to build. Are you going to include a blog in your site? If so, Then your content must be better than the rest to get people to come back regularly to yours.

As of your plan to include calculator, directory and articles, are you going to capture leads to be sent to mortgage affiliate program you joined, too? If so, then you have to figure how you will get traffic - i.e. using adwords, paid traffic, etc.

All in all, you want to get your site to rank high in Google search result pages, to give you organic traffic - and to be honest with you, with mortgage, this is fairly difficult, as the competition is stiff.

    Good luck with your project!

That seems to be a very competitive keyword. You might have to challenge some big players in the industry. If you are ready with that, then go on.

High paying niches are always great
But you need to be persistent with it
The niche has become saturated to such an extent that one needs atleast 100 niche targeted articles with fresh articles being added every month and also persistent SEO efforts
Should start giving you benefits in a years time IMO but can take more time

It would probably take time before you can really realize the percentage of success and you have to compete with so many big players in the niche. I myself was trying it and it seems to be a real hard work. i have my site for almost a year now and I just can't make to the level i really plan on achieving. Well, I didn't really try to work on it till about 2 months ago. Since you will be having an article directory, you get some traffic from that but I don't what will be your CTR.

    Just my 2 cents

Doesn't seem to be quite as competitive as Insurance and Loans so could probably be worth a shot!

Let me honest with you here.

You have 0.00001% of success. That niche is too competitive and you wont even stand a chance against websites that have millions in advertising and marketing.

Unless you do something outstanding....But if you're just for articles, directory and calculators then my advise is not to waste your time.

I'm not trying to put you down, but i'm really trying to help you. Good luck!

you can always try. you got nothing to lose especially if you are not doing adwords to promote you site. I only use Ezinearticles and goarticles plus do some lens and WP blogs to promote it and you can get to goals but do not expect those high paying clicks all the time as it can go from 5.00 to a low of less than .10 cents.

    Good luck...

Getting traffic to that niche is going to be very difficult. Unless you are really good and know what you are doing and have a proven track record in driving traffic etc.... then dont bother and find an easier niche.
