Hi all... I am going to start publishing my site very soon and I did some homework about it before. My site is going to compete with ALOT of website in same business, and I think it's going to be a very hard competition, and I don't know if I have the chances even to get into the top 30-40 in google. My website is in the Renting apartments for turists in Paris. 1000's of website already fighting on the places there and I didn't even join that fight. I wanted to ask here if anyone already found himself in the same position. What can I do in order to be ranked well no matter what? I am renting STUDIO apartments, do I need to focus on 'studio' as my main keywork in order to minimize my competition? What method do I need to use in order to build an effective strategy not just to be ranked high in google, but also to generate sales... I am curious to hear what people here has to say about that, Thanks in advance for any help.... Guy.
You could always just use google adwords... at least until you start competing for your key phrases...
Hi there, I know how you feel. I'm focusing on World War 2, which is a very competitive keyword, but I am not allowed to use it in my text since the canadian term is "Second World war", so it's more challenging. I'm not doing to bad on google "world" but it's easier to target a specific market, Canada in this case. Optimize you site for you keywords. Try to find sites with a good PR to link to you. If you can, focus on some specific market, it's easier than to target the world, although it may be difficult in the tourism market. Good luck,
Keyword research is the key. Do an intense keyword research and find out keywords which have high search volume and low competition. If you have done proper on page SEO then you won't need too much backlinks to rank higher. Secondly, Create backlinks only from relevant web pages with your keyword in the anchor text. You will see results within 2-3 months.
You should start off page optimization with long key phrases. But make sure that actual keyword(of your key phrases) is having a good search volume.
