Plagiarizing Content For Affiliate Portal

    This one is kind of funny I thought. I have an affiliate site that has totally original content and graphics. Recently, the company that the affiliate company is for launched a "canned 5 page portal" for any affiliate program.

    Interesting thing is that it has the same general look/feel of my site. But even funnier is some of the graphic/image files were actually lifted from my site without any changes.

    Usually you hear about affiliate sites lifting content from the company, but not the other way around... :)

    I know... I emailed them saying that I know they lifted some of it, but I didn't really care, and took it more as a compliment. :) Maybe they will give me an affiliate bonus or something. heh j/k

    I wouldn't mind a look actually, if you want to part with the URL.

    I'm of the firm belief that where online marketing is concerned (affiliate), it's best to leave the presell and content to the company. No point in trying to reinvent their particular wheel. Hence, minimal pre-amble, straight off to their site (referrals etc).

    So, whatever you did, you must have done it well.
    In fact, I'd be chuffed !

    Although, in your shoes I'd expect recognition. If your work is good enough to convert the masses, then perhaps it's good enough to convert one or two of your own !

    Shawn, was this your site for sending money? I assume you don't wish to publicise it. Anyway, if it was, they are very quick to threaten people with lawsuits when their name is mentioned on gambling affiliate websites. Seems they don't want their reputation tarnished by being associated with gambling, but are quite happy to enhance it by copying someone else's fine work.

    Unless I'm barking up the wrong tree with the site I think it is...

    wow, that's pretty horrible that they just ripped off your graphics.

    I'm surprised you're taking that so lightly, a lot of sites would be quite annoyed
