I build my site. The site was not with a lot of people inside it, because i was testing the script features, installing mods and correcting some CSS errors. In this time what happens?

A Person , get the site idea, and fastly build another site in other board (vBulletin) and put on it almost every single feature that i brought to my site.

After that, this person says that doesn't want to go on with webmastering, because he is:

    and Sell the site here.

IS THAT FAIR with me? Does somebody could help me, or saying something, because maybe I'm the wrong one...

    kindest regards

    P.S.:
Come on...respect me and my inteligence!

Music Master - sorry, but I am not following you. Who? What? Without any details, not much can be offered here.

He means me, I made a music forum and apparently I copied him because of it. This is so funny.

Well this is a cheap first lession for the guy, don't show your sites publicly or
ideas. If you do you are begging for trouble... You see you are chatting with
sharks and you are the fish, if you have a great site or idea keep it to your
    self.

    Example:
    ________________________________________________________________
    John posts:

"wow guys i could not belive it that goodbusiness.com domain was available
for registering, man gonna register it tomorrow when its my pay day, yeahoo!"

    Shark posts:

"no need i did it already, thanks for the info"

    John posts:

    "oh golly!"
    ________________________________________________________________

If you need advise on something and you need to show your site, make a
template of it and change the links etc... Also don't show orginal domain.
This way you can ask about the design and other issues from other people
without having to worry about someone stealing your ideas.

What you're describing isn't plagarism and it happens all the time.

No one else had ever started a music board before you did?

Also, were these "Features" your original creations? I'm guessing not.

I'm setting up a website that charges people for products and service. None of you are allowed to have one now! ;)

    Weeeee I win.

Best damn advice. Don't talk more than absolutely necessary, it often comes back to bite you in the ass.

Music Master, whether this was indeed plagiarism seems to be unclear. Perhaps you could post the urls of the sites in question?

If you created the content, you own and and can even shut DP down if they do not cooperate.

If not, then you can't do nothing about it.

    Peace,

Ideas are very easy to copy, and usually not copyrightable. Only the specific content and how you implement your idea is.

Best of all is to provide your site with a unique angle that makes it different, caters to a specific audience, and that you know you can provide better than anyone.

If actual content was stolen then you can sue him for copyright violation, if you did not follow propper copyright procedure there is nothign you can do about it. Sadly the industry has sharks in it that arent always with the highest moral and ethical standards.

If you share osmething on a public forum you are releasing the information as public domain.
