I have just started to think about selling two websites. The traffic/adsense is minimal but they are established and have decent rankings in Google; I think they're also pertinent to big money issues (election '08 and fuel-efficiency), so I figure they might have value to some entity with deep pockets. I am listing them on sedo.com; I am also thinking about putting a 'for sale' sign of some sort on the footer of the site or somewhere incospicuous (this is my question). I don't want the site to seem cheap or transient to visitors; I do appreciate the traffic that I get. I have not yet thought this through, and I was wondering if anyone has some suggestions or key points to consider. All ideas apreciated at this point. Thanks.
I would try to sell it without regular visitors knowing. Sitepoint and DP both over places to sell your website.
bad idea, makes it look cheap, but anyone on sitepoint or dp will look it over and see it, and think you are desperate to sell and offer much less
Not that much bad idea .. but keep the site running .. while doing that .. just place a Image and also try to sell that on other ways .. like here on DP, SitePoint, Webmasters Talk and SEDO !!!
