Places Optimization

I would like to learn more about how to optimize my Google Places listings. I have three locations. One does not have enough traffic to matter. One is doing really well (550 impressions and 100+ actions a month) in an area with about 200k people. The other is not doing well at all (300 impression and 10 actions a month) in an area with 1.2 million people.

Each ad has a location specific page that they link to.

Obviously the competition is greater in the area with 1.2 million people, but I am still very unhappy with the results. What strategies could I take to optimize this ad? What critical things could I look to improve in my ad?

    Problem Ad

Thank you in advance for your help!

If it were me, I'd pull the problem ad. Then I'd think of another place to put it. My opinion anyways.

I guess I should have added that we are a local service company. Therefore, this market is actually our largest opportunity because of location. It would not make sense for us to just not advertise there... Does it??

So getting the website and business listed on local directories will help with my places listing?

Good information, I did not know that! Would I link the directory listings back to my location specific page then to see the most effect?

    Thank you,

    Tim

What exactly is a "dedicated" directory? Any tips on how to emphasize my service in my target area?

    Thank you

    Tim,

Are you talking about getting your Google Places listing high up in your local results?

If so you need to focus on the following...

    1. You need to post your google places listing "link" on your business website.
    2. You need to post your business website on your google places listing.
    3. The address on your website needs to be the same address listed on your Google Places Listing.
    4. You need to get reviews from customers. (You can do this by sending out an email to your customers if you have one and asking them to leave a review on your Google Places page)

Hope this helps, if not tell me and ill try to help you!

Tim, if you have a business that has multiple locations, than put all of the locations on your google places listing. If you're referring to different business's, than setup a different google places listing for each business, and follow the same process.
