As a web and graphic designer myself,

I feel this website is to bland and almost "template like" to show of your work buddy,

It needs that new web 2.0 feel at least,

Its just missing something, sure enough its very user friendly, and clean,

but the graphical needs just aint there in my opinion,

I, too, believe it to be clean and simple, and I do like the colors used. Not sure, though, that it could be considered better than a template-like site, but shows promised. Perhaps see how you can carry the theme just a bit more into the rest of the page without making it busy.

The clock needs to go and repeating the slogan is not needed above the header.

Button style categories look better than link like ones.
