If you've never heard of it, PixProfit is one of those Captcha typing sites wherein you get paid to answer Captcha checks. Basically, the sites want you to do this so that they can gather data for their captcha-solving software. I read somewhere that this was actually an illegal software, so I was wondering if working for these sites is technically illegal?
No, it's definitely not illegal to work for such a company or solve captchas for that matter. But it's inhumane - Captchas these days give me a headache before I can solve them, they're better left to machines.
I have written a whole article about making money with captchas if you want to read it. =) It is definitely not worth it at all. And you will most likely be contributing to mass-spam and other things generated by blackhat software.
Many of the Captcha typing sites are simply saving time for others in filling out the Captcha forms. Nothing illegal about that. Moreover, given the difficult in reading some captcha requests, especially for those with vision problems, such services can be extremely useful.
