Hello. I'm curious... I am wondering if I can take a pixeled image and convert it to vector easily? I've been searching around on the net for ideas on this... but so far nothing... Is this possible? Lhlalyam
There's an old program by Adobe called Streamline that will turn bitmaps into vector. They've since incorporated those features into Illustrator, which I think goes by the name of Live Trace now. There's probably a load of freeware apps that do the same thing around.
Hello GrantMoney. Thats great to know! Just learning this process... I use linux apps and I know Inkscape has a trace feature... is this the same idea? Lhlalyam
I think the all trace program use same idea, coreldraw has coreltrace built in it and similar to adobe streamline but I always do manually to trace a bitmap because it'll more precission than using program
Hello. Bnandika? Do you use Inkscape or Adobe products? It would be interesting to find out if someone here uses linux products. Lhlalyam
Freehand also offers a "Wand", you can click and drag, getting the whole image, and then it traces over it a vector image. Then group and there you have a vector image from a pixel image. However, it is not as perfect, but it might work for what you need it. Good Luck.
Hello Everyone. Thanks lilybaby... haven't heard of Freehand. Ireanwang1: not all pros use illustrator... i know of others that use inkscape and gimp.... since linux is their choice of operating system... interesting point though.... have you tried open source? has anyone tried linux graphic programs for changing pixel images to vector?
