Hey Guys, I was thinking of starting a pixel ad site similar to - www.milliondollarhomepage.com. Has anyone had any good/bad experiences with a similar site? any tips?
Hi, If you can pull it off you can make a lot of money with these kinds of sites, but i think you need to be Alex Tew, who was the guy who originally started this craze, but his 2nd site which is another pixel site looks like it is about to die without hitting its target so it shows how hard it is for this kind of website to work.
Remember his USP... "Own a piece of internet history!"? This worked because it was unique, a one off. I'm sure some folks done okay copying the idea straight off because there was a lot of buzz around the concept, there's not anymore. I don't know what your intentions are, but if it's to make $1,000,000 then I don't think pixel advertising is the way to go. Colm P.S. The idea was only half of it, he had a damn fine P.R. team behind him.
The pixel ad site fad is over with in my opinion. Why don't you try a word cloud site; they are quite popular nowadays.
Perhpas if you can get some good PR through backlinks you might be able to pull it off, but as suggested why not go for something new?
