I have been working on my pirate website especially because I have hired a few times to play the role of one at 2 huge gatherings at a fory here in Penang, Malaysia.

LOL, it's a cute site. Just one question, what does it mean that pirates don't do CDs? Like music CDs or...? That confused me a little.

 

Well if you come round to Asia, pirates make huge profits on Music CDs and DVDs. I was just being silly.

 

You see the links right below the Google Leaderboard add, if you are familiar with css. Here's what I would do.

a.links:link { color: #0000FF; text-decoration: none; font-size: 14px; font-family: arial;}

a.links:active { color: #0000FF; text-decoration: none; font-size: 14px; font-family: arial;}

a.links:visited { color: #0000FF; text-decoration: none; font-size: 14px; font-family: arial;}

a.links:hover { color: #0000FF; text-decoration: underline; font-size: 14px; font-family: arial; border-bottom: 1px solid #ff0000;}


This will give you nice looking links and upon hover the blue underline that you currently have will appear, this will give your site alittle more life and telling the viewer hey my site isn't dead.


Oh ya also don't forget to give the links a class="links" or whatever you wanna change it to.

 

I swear ive seen that pirate in a cartoon... oh and you got some dead links

There's gonna be tons of content... over 600 photos in the gallery, ebooks like Treasure Island, etc
All in all a projected 5000 html pages when complete!

You gonna take my advice? I don't wanna tell you how to run your site. But I think it's a really cool idea.

 

That is a really nice site! The ads at the top and bottom fit in well and don't detract from the overall theme.
Will you have something special there for international talk like a pirate day?

Of Couse the animated one is better.

 

The issue is more people I know prefer the still banner.
only a few like the animated.

 

the site is nice. my oppinion too many google ads and low content.

 

i have only one sugestion
try to change the colors.
you can make the background a grey and leave the body of the website white

 

There will be about 5000 pages of content when I am done
The site is brand new and still being worked on for just a few days.
