    yes very distracting for people reading the text - would always try to use white background for text

    yes the colour scheme does need a bit of work.
    You also need to optimise/resize the pictures - they take too long to load (shrink them to the size that you will be displaying them in)
    Navigation is inconsistent between the pages.
    Why not just use a basic wordpress site?

    well i personally like it. pink is my fav color so i like it. :) and there are brighter things out there.
