Anybody had much look getting their social bookmark links indexed after pinging them to google & Yahoo?

I've found with a few sites no matter what you do the profile & bookmarks just don't get indexed.

Would love to hear your experiences.

Most social bookmarking sites that are worth posting to have such high traffic that they're indexed almost immediately ... pinging the page once won't hurt though...

Do you mean indexed or ranked??

Edit: Surely since you advertise SEO in your sig you should know this.....

Generally speaking, it is only a time issue for indexing if only there were no "NOINDEX" setting in their meta tags.

    Thanks,

I ping them and, if I'm really in a hurry to get the backlinks indexed, I'll put all the urls of the bookmarking links on a page with relevant anchor text and put it on a web 2.0 site with a newly-created account just for that purpose. I'll title it something like "John's Favorite Links" and then ping and bookmark that all over the place.

I think you better submit it to Social Bookmark. I tried twitter, the effect is almost immediately.

yes obviously I'm not talking about the popular sites I'm talking about the sites that hardly ever get crawled to make them worth submitting to.
