Hi All, i have posted my first post in my blog. and used ping-o-matic and pinggoat after that to submit my site url. Confusion: Do i need to submit my post url everytime after updation or the same site url after updation of new post. Regards, Init2
No. Word Press and Blogger blogs ping automatically. If you have a self hosted word press blog, you can set you ping settings from your dashboard and add a ping list if you so desire. I believe it's Settings->Writing. Not sure how the rest of them work. Some people prefer manual pinging with every post, personally I don't see the point since you are going to probably bookmark it, and you have your RSS feed listed in a few hundred places....it's kind of redundant...but it's a personal choice.
yes, the option is their, so can i include all the site under that which i want to ping? is Doing Ping-o-matic then pinggoat is like doing 2 duplicate work for ping goat or both ping's different url. Regards, Init2
A lot of ping services hit the major networks, so if you have a large ping list in there, you are probably being redundant and duplicating your pings to services that have already been covered by the 2 you mentioned, Ping-o matic, and ping-goat. Seriously, if you throw like 5 services in there, you will be covered since they all feed from each other. You are not going to miss one and not be indexed. I know some people have a list of like 100 ping addresses in their options, and that was probably necessary 5 years ago, but I just don't see the need today...and I could be wrong..it's just the way I have mine set up and I don't have a problem with posts not being indexed. I am sure there are differing opinions on the matter.
My first post got indexed soon, but yesterday when i read about ping-o-matic & Pgoat, i was pretty confused in that. so after this i can include all the url to ping in my WP under setting>writing. is their is any technology ping site tool which i can use to ping all tech site, as my blog niche is technnical ( Unix, windows ) Thanks for the advice that was really helpful for me. Regards, Init2
Not that I know of. Pinging services are not niche specific, but there are other ways that you can target your niche using certain bookmarking services, directories, and of course commenting on like blogs and websites that have traffic...and of course your content.
Oops, after reading all the posts, I just realized that you guys are talking about ping-o-matic, not wp-o-matic, P-)
