It was a cold night, they probably had a little campfire in the back of the dugout, and Kenny grabbed a S'more on his way out to the mound. It's chocalate.

If you don't buy that, then it's definetly poo.

Does pine tar affect the ball somehow? I know scratching it will, but tar?

I'd assume a little bit on the finger tip would affect the rotation. Putting it on the ball probably wouldn't affect the air drag.

At this point, the series is even and Kenny's hand is clean. Play ball!

Maybe he really throws a stinkball?

Maybe less spin on the ball? I know those knuckleballs are totally cool. I love that guy who throws them. They go anywhere they want to. Its sweet.

Im a Cards fan, but seriously who cares? He used pine tar to manipulate the spin on the ball, a Cards pitcher could have done the same thing.

Its not like he paid the umpires $50k to rig the game.

I'm not sure which I'd rather have known:

1- I used pine tar on the ball
2- I had a wet shit and didn't wipe properly
3- I had a normal shit and missed with the toilet paper
4- they were low on TP and I didn't wash up afterwards

I think I'd just leave speculation open, personally ;)

It was most likely pine tar. It is not the first time he has resorted to cheating to win a game. Pine tar will give you a better grip on the ball, which translates into an unfair advantage when it comes to control.

Hell, in Cory League as kids pitchers used to resort to just about everything we could think of. Vaseline under the bill of the hat. A bandaid with a thumb tack under it. Emory boards, you name it. At high speed you would be surprised what affect aerodynamics has on a base ball with just the slightest scuff.

I'm a bit disappointed the league and the umps did not take a sample before having him wash it off. It would be pretty sad to have this series go down in the record books to a team that cheated.

After getting blown out in game 1, I am a bit suspect. Kinda odd how after he washes his hand (gets caught) he is suddenly retired for the evening.

Well they will be in St. Louis the next 3 games, so I am pretty sure they will be keeping an eye on the Tigers as a result.

Loiren, you know full well that Bush is behind this. It is a big consipircay to give Detroit a win in hopes that it will bolster consumer confidence in union made rust buckets that get 12 miles to the gallon.

I'm surprised they have not had Bush there himself throwing out the first pine tar covered ball.

You can bet your ass that that pine tar came from Halliburton... Those bastards!

    I knew it!!!

meanwhile the taxpayers have to flip the bill - 1.4 billion dollars for that splotch of pine tar!

I see prices @ the pump rising 2.99 cents from the Kenny fallout

You know Detroit is home to Caddilac (what all rich people drive) and St. Louis is home to Budweiser (what all poor workin' people drink) so the big money people and Washington will see to it that the umps call the game "right".

BTW, did you know can you build weapons of mass desctruction out of pine tar?
